Contemporary Fiction Book Group

Contemporary Fiction

The Contemporary Fiction book group started (I think) in 2014. We read serious literature; writers who are winners of the National Book award, Pulitzer Prize, Booker Prize. Our discussions often result in researching related topics and field trips to further explore ideas suggested by the books we read.

We meet the second Tuesday of the month at 1PM in the Gallery.

The Field of Mystery

The Field of Mystery Book Group was started by former Head of Circulation Nora Mulligan in response to popular demand in February, 2020 (masterful timing: right before the pandemic hit), spent its first year on zoom and has been live and in person ever since.  The group has read all different kinds of mysteries, from modern to classic, from books everybody liked to books everyone disliked enough that we spent the meeting rewriting the plots.  The discussions are fascinating and insightful, friendly and often funny.   If you’re a mystery fan or mystery-curious and would like to check us out, contact group moderator Ryan at rkominski@thefieldlibrary.org.

The Field of Mystery Book Group meets at The Field Library one Saturday a month

Field Notes Book Selections

Field Notes

The Field Notes Book Group has been around for more than a decade. Started by Nora Mulligan, and now moderated by Tatiana Del Solar, this group reads both fiction and nonfiction, chosen by group members from a list provided by the moderator. The group meets once a month, generally on a Saturday. Over the years, no matter if the group has loved the book or not, discussions are lively and interesting, usually filled with laughter and insights. If you’re interested in joining us, contact Tatiana at tdelsolar@thefieldlibrary.org.

Drum Hill

Drum Hill

The Field Library proudly offers delivery of books and other materials and a book club for Drum Hill residents, moderated by Tatiana Del Solar on the second Wednesday afternoon of the month. For more information contact Tatiana at tdelsolar@thefieldlibrary.org.

It’s been a delightful experience to exchange ideas with thoughtful individuals from various backgrounds. All discussions are conducted in Spanish, and the book club is designed for intermediate to advanced Spanish speakers. If you have a passion for books and would like to join us, please contact Rosa.

El Rincón de la Lectura meets at The Field Library on one Saturday each month at 11 a.m.
